Fantastic session on child bereavement with Winston’s Wish. I recommend speaking to them about training. All people who deal with children should be equipped with this knowledge and understanding.
Urgent training for schools
It can be difficult to know how to immediately respond to a death in your school community and how to support your students and colleagues. Our one-hour online Rapid Response training package is designed to offer immediate support and advice for school staff in those days and weeks following a bereavement.
Training for organisations
Does your organisation work with children and young people? Are you and your colleagues confident about supporting children during or following the death of someone close to them? We can offer online or face-to-face bespoke training to your organisation to help you better support the bereaved children in your care.
Training for individuals
Our three-day training courses, delivered online via Zoom, are designed to help professionals better support bereaved children and young people. Topics covered include an overview of childhood bereavement and how children grieve, factors such as complex family structures and bereavement policies for schools.
SEND bereavement support training
Our one-day online course provides a guide to supporting bereaved children and young people who have special educational needs and disabilities. Topics covered include how children with SEND grieve, the skills and techniques needed to support them and help you develop a toolkit of resources.
Free online bereavement training
Our short free online bereavement training courses will help teachers and school staff to understand how grief affects a child or young person and how you can help them cope with their grief. There are two courses aimed at both primary and secondary schools and they take around 20 minutes to complete.
