Player 2 – Work hard, Play Hard

Take on a gaming fundraiser to support grieving children, young people and families.

At Winston’s Wish we work with children and young people after someone important to them has died. Many of them have shared that gaming helps them cope with their grief. Some have shared that the person who died is someone they used to game with – their Player 2.

Inspired by their stories we launched Player 2 – Work Hard, Play Hard. We’re asking our corporate partners to take on a gaming marathon for Winston’s Wish with your organisation and raise funds to help us to be there for more grieving children, young people and families.

Choose your challenge

Decide on the length of your marathon. We’d suggest 12 or even 24 hours in relays, so people can join in from home. You’re free to choose your games, whether it’s on a desktop, console or laptop. (If you’d rather play board games or sports, that’s fine too)!

Why Winston’s Wish?

We believe that every child deserves the chance to live a life filled with opportunity, regardless of the hand they receive. We want every child who faces the devastating loss of a loved one at a young age to know that the rest of their days don’t need to be defined by their grief and that they can enjoy a full and flourishing future.

Over the last 30 years, we’ve worked with tens of thousands of children and young people who have lost their Player 2. Each one has their own story to tell and their own unique way of making sense of their grief.

We need your help to make sure that we can be there for them and work towards a future where no child grieves alone.
